I just bought a v-force reed cage and I am wondering what everyone with 39mm carbs are using for their intake manifold. I currently have a Boyeson Rad valve that is one complete unit (reed cage and intake). I have a original intake that came on the bike but it barely makes it over a 38mm carb since it was for a 36mm carb to begin with.I thought I remember something about the early ATC,s haveing larger intake manifolds but I could be wrong. How about the CR intakes would they fit? Thanks for any help Dave

A CR250 intake manifold works. I have the 39mm with the CR250 manifold and reed cage and it fits great. If you run the stock air box you may want to get a reed spacer though as the CR250 manifold is shorter than the stock one. The carb won't reach the airbox without one. Check the dealer to make sure you get the manifold without the extra ears on it that go into the cage. I believe the new year models have them without the ears.
