Jetting help needed on piped '01 Banshee
#1
Rode this weekend at Sand Lake and found I have a slight problem after installing FMF fatty pipes, K&N filter in airbox without lid, 290 main, 30 pilot, needle in stock position. The machine runs great in all areas exept from a launch in 2nd gear. When you drop the clutch in 2nd it will not bog- but take a second or two before coming up on the pipe and by then the other guy has me by a quad length. What would cause this? Pilot jet too big? Btw, my air screws are at 1 1/2 turns out.
Thanks. Dan

I have the exact same mods as you on my 99 banshee except I run the airbox on with holes drilled in the airbox lid. The only difference I didn't do is change the pilot jets from 25 to 30 and adjust the screws. It seems pretty dead in low rpms...should I bump up the pilot jet to a 30 for the bottom end? Should I also adjust the screws?

Well.... I did a little research today and found maybe if I drop a tooth on the countershaft sprocket my problem will be fixed. Everyone I talked to said that my jetting and carb tuning is right on.
