I have heard that it can get real messy removing the oil with the glide plate on. I really don't want to remove the glide plate every time I change the oil, but at the same time I don't want to get oil all over the glide plate as well, even though the hole is suppose to work when doing this. Can anyone tell what they have done to get around this problem?

What kind of Glide plate is it? DG, Baja, what? You really shouldn't have too much of a problem. Just loosen it almost allthe way before it starts leaking, and finish the last few threads with an extension/socket on the end. Be quick! You can't avoid a mess completely, even without glide plates ya still get a little sticky on the hands. Good luck.

SaMs0n,
I have a DG glide plate on my Warrior & the drain hole is not even close to the oil pan plug so I tried enlarging it with a saber saw. It still was a messy job with the skid on. I finally solved the problem with a vacuum pump by Pela which vacuums the oil out thru the filler tube. It holds about a gallonof oil...no muss or fuss.I did a post on the pump a few minths ago, if you want to do a search for it.

I also have the DG glide plate on my Banshee, and the hole doesn't line up perfectly either.

I was thinking of getting that pump myself, but I was wondering does it remove all the oil, or does it still leave a bit in?
