Which Klotz Synthetic
#2
Oil is a pretty subjective and rather interesting subject on most BBS's.
I run Klotz normal Techniplate in my sled and the wife's quad. I will be running R50 in mine this summer and see how that goes. I have had good luck with Techniplate in my sled and that was what led me to choose it for the wife's R. I exchanged several emails with Klotz's tech dept on which oil would suit me best. With castor oil deposits build faster than a pure synthetic so you've got to watch your RPM. But many feel that pure bean oil provides the best hi-rpm cylinder lubrication.
All oils that meet TC-W3 requirements are at least equal, then it's somewhat subjective from there from each persons' experience on what they feel, think, used ESP for, or otherwise had a friend who had a friend who, leads them to thier opinion on oil.
In general, not directly replying to your question, but I feel that if an oil meets TC-W3 requirements, then run it....
Without really getting into what level of modifications you're at. Regular Techniplate will cover 80% of the 2 strokers out there...

I've run Techniplate in my Blaster and 250R for the past year, and I'm happy with it. I tried to run R50 in my 250R and started fouling plugs. Switch back to Techniplate and there are no problems. Same ratio (36:1), same jets, etc. I've never fouled a plug except for the three that fouled while I was running R50. One of the plugs actually died when running at fairly high rpm on an old logging road. Go figure, but I switched back to Techniplate and haven't had any problems with it.
