GOOD-- Nacs, Magic Racing, Rocky Mountain ATV, Denton Racing, Sidewinder, Graydon Proline, Racers Edge Racing, Honda Of Troy, Chaparral, Dennis Kirk.

BAD--Ronnie's (sent wrong clutch kit and argued with me saying it would
work. Also sent two tire irons that I didn't even order).

Sunset ATV (took about three mounths to get a set of mayer fenders,
they blamed it on mayer. After about a two months they
started lying to me every time I called them saying that
they would ship them on so and so day.

That's the only real problems that I have had. I read an interveiw notlong ago about buying from companies that show no interest in supporting ATV racers. The interview was with Denton, Hitt and alot
of other people. They Said Don't. I agree so Im not going to buy from Chaparral,Dennis Kirk, Honda Of Troy ect. anymore. What do you guys think?

I agree with what you are saying somewhat. I only really want to support those companies that support atv racing. But.. I want to be fair to the other guys, they are just out to make a living, and lots of them are very honest and good (RMATV).

I don't mean to flame here, but do you guys honestly think that racing ATV's is the only form of riding out there? a 60 year old farmer who buys a Rubicon to get around on the farm could probably care less about atving, so why should a parts distributor be any different? Especially big warehouse stores like Dennis Kirk and Chaparral and Rocky Mountain?

Sorry dude, but companies make alot of money on racers. Think about it, a racer goes out every weekend all summer, he is bound to break something big eventually. I understand farmers not caring about atving, but us racers dont want to give our hard earned money to a company that does not give back to our sport in one way or another. Most companies can afford to and chose not too for whatever reason. This is saying " I will sell you what you need to race, but I really dont care about it" To us, this is a slap in the face. Anyways, the companies who dont support our sport, will still get business from recreational riders which is also a big portion of the market. You kinda just have to see it from both angles.

Here we go...

GOOD:

Upper Muddy Racing is a family owned business. Pro racer Josh Frederick (SFX Pro Quad Championships-#7) and friend Johnny Hale (SFX Pro Quad Championships-#6) put this honest business together, and I have had nothing but good to come when ordering from these guys.
Rocky Mountain ATV sure lives up to their motto... "Big Enough To Serve, Small Enough To Care." I can always count on the parts I'm looking for to be in stock, and I have never had to wait for a package for more than 4 days from these guys. They also always have the cheapest prices on tires.
Cal-ATV is a fair, honest business and always has the OEM Honda parts I'm looking for in stock, whether they are used or new. I believe they sell aftermarket products as well, but I've always only bought OEM parts (bolts, spindles, etc.) from them. They, like Rocky Mountain, are one of those companies that gets you your parts to your house in 2-4 days.

I've only really had one bad experience...
Quad Central II: About a year ago, I started racing motocross and the stock frame on my 250R became unsafe. I contacted Steve (the owner) at Quad Central II and he told me he had a brand new stock 250R frame, never welded or cracked that had just sat in the shop. The powdercoat was brand new, but the frame had tape and packing material around the footpeg and swingarm bracket area (he told me it was from storage). Once again, he told me that the frame had never been touched or welded before I took the frame home. This frame was an '89 style (I had an '87) and he also told me that everything would bolt up no problem. I took the frame home and began bolting on parts. My '86-'87 style rear grabbar would not bolt up correctly, as well as the seat latch (I had to rig those parts). My '86-'87 style footpegs wouldn't bolt up, also. I was a little mad that the parts didn't bolt up like he said they would, but it didn't bother me as much as when I pulled off all that tape and packing material and saw the huge booger welds. I inspected the frame over once more, and found even more welds on the frame. I called up Steve and he didn't have much to say. The deal was to trade my old cracked frame and $300 for this "untouched, never welded" frame. (So he could weld my frame up, powdercoat it, and tell someone else how it hadn't been welded or touched, also.) I didn't give him my frame. About 4 months later at my first National, I snapped that frame right in half.
Conclusion...steer clear of Quad Central II. I have a LOT of friends that have also been ripped off by Quad Central II and Steve Abbott.

I agree with both of you.. I used to be one of the "farmers" sons.. and no, we didn't give a rats @$$ about racers.. The only thing we needed was mud tires, and a gun rack! Now, I race more than I ride utility. I also try to do all of my racing business with racing companies, but if K&K, or Nacs don't carry the part, my first call goes to Rocky Mountain. After all, if you need it, you have to have it

<< steer clear of Quad Central II >>

I believe that legal problems were the reason for the name change a few years ago, from just Quad Central to Quad Central II.

Some companies just don't get it. It's amazing how many of them get away with it too! I'd be too nervous to do business that way - life's too short to **** off that many people!

PamFalcioni, you are exactly right... There was a Quad Central before Quad Central II, and even before that there was Motorcycle Central. But it's all the same people. They've had to change names 3 times.

And I agree with you completely on the <<life's too short to **** off that many people!>> comment you made. The people at Quad Central II and other businesses like them just don't understand they would make more money if they were more honest, instead of trying to rip everybody off. Sure, you may make more money off that one sale, but you'll never receive business from that customer again. They also don't understand how fast the word gets out to other quad racers. Anyway... be careful who you buy from.

Did some business with James Lucky today. They're very nice people to work with, and seem like they really want to help you the best they can. I'll continue to order from them in te future.

Quad Central II has kinda given me some problems too. In my order that I made about a week or so ago, there were some missing parts, so the product couldn't be installed. After 3 or 4 calls (a couple of which were useless, because they were out to lunch), I finally was told that the parts were sent out today. They said that it took a little longer than expected, because they had to special order the parts. The people were pretty nice (except for the secretary one time), but it seemed like they were confused about what was going on. Anyway, I'll be satisfied when the stuff is in my hands next week.

Keep this thread going. It's great.
