I purchase my alky in a barrel from a local sprint car racer/friend. I have been told there is no difference in this and the stuff you can by at tire companies (they use alky for added weight in rear tractor tires). I am still leary of purchasing it from a place like this. I know my friend will only run the best stuff money can buy, so I feel safe with it.

AZSAND, where do you find Nitro? They only racetracks around me are 1/8 mile, so buying it at the dragstip is out of the question. Is it hard to keep? Does it mix well? Man, you really have my curiosity up.

I don't know where he gets it but there are road racing go cart tracks around here that sell it. It is pretty high $ but they sell it by the pint all the way up to a gallon.

Thanks Gaff I will have to see if ours is mixed with water or not. We use Chem X at work, Denbury Resources Inc. I know the chem guys ok so I don't think I would have trouble getting any straight.

I think the RC car stuff is actually premix alky/nitro. You can get different percentage of nitro in it. I think most run about 15%.

Ward,
I haven't been able to continue the project as of yet. Last week I thought I would go riding for the week end and then start it the following monday. As you know we had that storm pass thru and it stopped just about every thing here. I went off shore to start the rig up for 5 days and returned home because of evacuation reasons last night. We are going to do are gasoline part of the study this afternoon and then I have to board up the house.
I will do the carb conversion while lili passes and hopefully the weather will be better by sunday or so.
I will deffinately post what I find.

Already bidding on a spare carb off ebay incase I screw it all up, lol.
Talk with you soon.
