Default AWD in reverse

For some reason or another I am having trouble getting my 700 to engage in reverse. Yes, I do push the override button. Any help would be much appreciated.

Change you fluid first and see if its milky (if you've been in water) If doesn't help, then could have a cage or armature plate problem. OPT

I know it isn't milky, so it must be the cage or plate. How much do those items cost?

Make sure you have power to the front gear case also. As far as cage prices(if needed) other members will probably chime in and give you prices on John Deere, etc or other after market replacement cages they have used. You won't like oem prices that I would give you OPT

It is an 02 Sportsman, and AWD will engage in High and Low even with switch turned off. Meaning no donuts or sliding around for me.... I want this fixed before it starts raining a lot there in Tennessee. Don't want to miss out on the fun haha

These roller cages can be replaced with a JD? Is there a thread that gives the specific model #'s??
