Well there was no shims so i tried a washer and it was too thick and made the belt rub on the oppisite side of the drive clutch. Do you have any idea what the thickness of the shims should be?

 

The old shims behind the Sportsman 500s (#7556120) were .060 thick about as 1/3 as thick as a regular washer. You might try a hardware store such as Ace,etc and see if you can find some thin washers and see if it helps. Again make sure you check the belt out for any glazing or worn spots that could be causing the creeping problem. OPT
