2004 600 Polaris 4x4

Question 2004 600 Polaris 4x4

Having problem with 4x4 . Works in high with awd switch on or off and dont work in reverse . I press overide button shows on speedo that its on . I change oil from Polaris , no diff .

Possibly could be a cracked plastic roll cage in the front differential if it works only in high range regardless if the awd button is on or off. This was a common thing to happen,some wouldn't engage the awd,some would only engage in forward,not in reverse like yours. Plus it could be as simple as an erratic armature plate not releasing. Hard to tell exactly what is wrong unless the differential is removed and taken apart. This is a breakdown of the front differential. Item #11 is the roll cage,item #26 is the armature plate. If the plastic roll cage is the problem there are aluminum upgraded roll cages from Polaris and some have used John Deere parts. OPT
