Default hot belt

I have an 04 700 sportsman that seems to be getting the belt hot going down steep inclines when the engine brake is working. It doesn't get hot while pulling.I have taken the belt off and it looks good as far as I can tell.Any ideas out there what is causing this? Thanks!

Check that the one way fiber washer against the front sheath isn't worn down and the one way works normally without a lot of side to side play. .020 play recommended.Plus the belt shouldn't touch the inner clutch sheath. Make sure the intake and exhaust ducts are clear plus might be a good idea to blow out belt dust from the clutches in an open area.If this doesn't help, but you say the belt doesn't show to have any glazed, burnt areas, then it might be time to check into the front and rear clutches for wear on guide buttons, rear rollers.
