3003 Polaris 500 HO ignition switch
I have a 2003 Polaris 500 HO. the ignition switch went bad. I bought a new one. It worked for about two months then it stopped working. I bought another one and it doesn't work either. For some reason it isn't getting a hot line. I have a wireing diagram. I have a hot wire to the D terminal on the switch plug. I can hotwire it from D to A with a push button switch and it starts, but when I plug the switch in it doesn't do anything. I did a continuity test on the switches and they seem to be ok. What should I check next?

Left control switch usually causes more problems than ignition switches because of all the functions it controls. Clean the two connectors at the switch, make sure the pins are clean, trace the wires down into the harness and see if you can find any shorts where the left control and ignition switch wires tie in. Spray a little electrical contact cleaner through the crevices and work the switches around also.Really doesn't do any good to take one apart as most times springs and the small bearing will fly out.If you find the problem is in the switch and not the ignition switch or control switch wiring or connections, then replace it.Partzilla and Cycle Parts Warehouse show to be about the same price.
