1995 sportsman 400 dies in gear
Intermittent issue while shifting in forward gear, the engine stalls. Will start in reverse. I have disconnected various switches (etc, override) and this does not help. Only after moving the shifter back and forth does the engine restart in forward or neutral gear. I suspect the gear switch to be faulty, help appreciated

Did you disconnect the black wire from the reverse limiter module located behind the oil tank? Normally this takes care of any dying in reverse or limiting in forward as some have done also by eliminating the limiter entirely. This way you can have full speed in reverse without even having to push the over ride button.

Don't replace this module,it's something that can/will fail again! Just a safety device that Polaris installed so people would have to push a button to have full power in reverse. Problem is that all of these fail. Some would die when placed in reverse, some would die or limit in forward range when they shorted out. Now you can have full power in reverse without having to mess with the over ride button.
