Default softening up shocks on my 2017 570 rzr

can you shorten your springs to spften up your ride

There are adjustments on the shocks where the springs are. Usually, Polaris has a spanner wrench as part of the tool kit that comes with the ATV/UTV. The pre-load adjustment has a ring that has notches in it. The notches are made for the spanner wrench to fit its two teeth into. The more pre-load on the spring the stiffer the ride and higher the ride height. This is probably how your shocks look:
One thing you want to do when adjusting the pre-load is to jack up that end of your RZR when you adjust so it's easier. Sometimes a little WD-4- between the shock body, and notched sleeve helps too.
