99 sportsman speedo condensation?
#1
I was just wondering if anyone else has had condensation build up in their speedometer? I'm on my second one and the new one does it too. Being curious as to why my first one went tu i opened it up and found two moisture absorbing pellets on the inside. All the circuitry looked good but the moisture cannot be good for all the electronics. I wouldn't mind if the speedo was broke but the 4wd goes out when the speedo goes out. I am wondering how long the new one will last. Thanks

I have heard of that happening alot. If it was me, I would silicone the crap out of it!! Clear silicone can work wonders. I have a tach on my atv that is not made for the outside environment, but with a little clear silicone, a steady hand, and time to cure, no moisture whatsoever. Give it a try, what do you have to lose?

I've owned 2 sportsmans(98 and 01), they both do it.
I've heard the 2003's and up are sealed better and won't
do it but I can't confirm that for sure..
they're not airtight in their housing so I don't know the
answer to fixing the problem,, maybe someone else has
some ideas...
