Sp 600 low gear
Does anyone use their low gear very much?
I have tried using mine and it works very well on the slow stuff, crawling over rocks and going up steep hills, as a matter of fact I've gotten to the point that I use it most of the time in the rocks unless I'm on a road that I turn it loose. I've noticed that it will still run about 12 to 15 mph although it's turning the engine quite a bit at that speed, and around here there isn't very many mountain trails that have long straightaways, but if there I can just stop and shift to high, I've checked the gas mileage and it doesn't seem to make that much difference.
Also the throttle response it much better in low when climbing over rocks and steep hills, and it's supposed to be much easier on the belt also, as far as wear goes.

No, Claybuster I haven't noticed a rattle, but I'm sure that it's nothing to worry about. It's probably the clutches grabbing the belt. I know one thing, using low gear can become something that you get used to very quickly in the rocks and steep hills, the throttle response is much better.
