Default Idle adjustment

My friend just got a 2003 sportsmen 500 H.O and a 2001 sportsmen 500 H.O. both are running so slow that they will not just sitt there and idle or they will die. I looked in the service manual and it shows a carb that isnt eaven on the sp. I cannot find the stupid idle adjustment screw on the bottom of the carb any where and if it is on the left hand side how do i get to it threw the clutch vent oil vent and the frame? also on the electronic speedo what dose it mean when the little wrench blinks in the top right hand corrner? it only has 32.8 hours on it and 376.2 miles. we still havent changed the oil due to not knowing where the stupid dran plug is and lack showing us how in the manual. also when it is idleing slow what is the clicking noise? is it the pull start rope? thanks.

You sound like you'd better take it to the dealer before you screw it up.
