Default 96 xplorer 400 starter

Hi, my starter stop working about a year ago, now my recoil broke on the weekend, I want to fix the starter, order a rebuild kit for it, should I soke it in something first? how easy is it to install the rebuild kit. I took it apart, it's full of crap! Thanks for any suggestions!

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

I would change the starter reley first then rebuild the starter. And no you dont soak it in anythingg first.A rebuild kit consists of brushes and bushings.
