Is there a steering post grease fitting on a 2000 Sportsman 500 ??..I was trying to look by removing the plastic cover on the front but I think you have to remove the plastic bumper frist...And it's held on with large bolts with a star shaped head..which I don't have..they always make things difficult

Not sure on the 200 but on the 02 there is a fitting at the top of the post you can get to by removing the pods 3 screws it is in the front. On an 00 I think there may be one by where the steering arms attach to the post.

My SP500 is a 2002..To grease the steering post you need to remove the plastic..from the front of the bike below the high beam headlight...It just snaps out...I removed the front rack to make it easier to get at..the grease fitting is near the top pointing froward..

Thanks Hotdog:I just finished greasing the steering column as you instructed. It must of needed it as it was to the point that it was squeaking.I have a 2001 Sportsman 500 HO and it only has one grease fitting at the very top under the light.I took the four T-25 torx screws out of the front rack and popped the front cover off. Thanks for your help.
