Now that we have heard from everyone with lemon 700s, am I the only one out here with a 700 that has had no problems?

Not a single issue with my 700 or 500. They have been awesome. Well over 8000 Polaris miles between 4 machines & only problems have been the ones I caused....The 700SP is by far my favorite...

I have a 02' SP700 --

Only problems i've had were the water pump leak. - nothing else that wasn't my fault. I've got over 1000 miles on it.

Hello fellow 700ians,
I'm new to this site but have a 02 700 I got it in Sept '02 and now it has 2300 miles on it. I have had a few problems with it, if I may elobarate on them: the speed odmeter shorted out, water pump leak, cracked manifold, blown out donut gasket, rear drive shaft (before they welded the whole shaft the drive pin become disludged and the shaft slid for and chewed up the splins '01's & 02's for sure, not sure about the 03's but the 04's are all welded) water in belt housing caused the belt to jump guides and would not allow the clutch to disengage, then no EBS (reason? the belt was worn alittle on the side) I've replaced 2 upper rear CV joint boots 1 lower left cv joint and boot and thats in only 9 months, but you cant beat the ride or the power!

PS. (500 Sportsman) keep and eye on the plunger joints, they are not covered under the 5 year warranty, and they dont mention anything about maintaing them either......$450.00 repair bill maintenance required: pull axles and lubricate joints (sounds like BS) its true had this happen on a 2001 RS Sportsman w/ 3200 miles

My 02 SP 700 has had only 2 problems with it, the water pump cover leaked which Polaris has a free update for and a rattle in the exaust heat shield which was fixed by wraping it with a big hose clamp. I have 1100 HARD miles on it and have no regrets.

Chuuxx, please let me know what difference you could tell on your 700 after changing to the 600 clutch parts. I've just changed the primary spring so far - from the stock blue to green. This has worked okay for local competitive events, but is too hard of a hit for the type of trail riding I do most of the year.

For awesome tuneable clutch weights/springs check out HEELCLICKER.COM. My 700SP now totally grips the belt off idle & has better EBS response also. The best upgrade so far...
