Default rath's cdi rev box

sorry that my post caused a flame war, I agree that everyone has opinions about what works. Truth be told that many different philosophies can work. They just don't seem to cross well.

One of the reasons that I asked, was because I read in a magazine a couple of months ago ( don't remember which one ) that somemade a cross country racer that raised the rpm level 2000 rpm with their box. Maybe I misread it or remember it wrong, I think it was for a female racer. I've got bad memory sometimes. Maybe it was highlifter or mickey dunalp or someone like that. It was a few months back and only skimmed the article in the store.

I know, we all hate hearsay, especially when it was a while ago.

Maybe somebody has that article and can clarify for me
thanks,

P.S. I remember something about that the bike still hit the rev limiter quite easily

I have a feeling it was Angela's quad you are referring to. Yes, Mickey DUnlap done her mods. I chat with Angie alot, and she sent me pics of her Predator. She made the cover of the Magazine with her ride. Is this the one your talking about?I know awhile back she was telling me she has had a hard time with it overheating.....

Scott, I have no problem with other company's products. My Sportsman 700 has 1200.00 worth of Hot seat and Olav AAEN's Products on it. And as Tina stated most people are not going spend alot of money to modify there Predator, therefore you want to get the most for your money. HPD and FST 530 kits will be good kits without a doubt. I am not a fan of a 600cc kit. They may make it work, but from an engineering stand point it don't add up on paper. But $400.00 for a carb, that may increase throttle response slightly but make the same power as stock, or $400.00 and get a good port job, and pick up 6 to 8 HP throughout the entire rpm range. clip the spring 1/2 inch, drill out the slide holes to1/8 inch add a 50 pilot needle in stock position, 170 to 180 main, and airbox mod of your choice, will be better than a aftermarket carb on a mildly modded engine.(set float bowl). Less than $100.00 dollars. Most any slip on pipe, HPD may be the magic pipe that everybody is waiting on, but until independent dyno test prove it, there all fairly close. stock head pipe. but cams, springs and this type stuff is for the all out engine's. A cdi that spins up 10000 rpm, a cam to flow in that range, is going to do away with the low and mid and create a narrow torque curve thats only good for drag racing or oval track. Not to mention the stock crank will not survive over a very long period of time, look at the rappy forum at the stock cranks breaking on the modded engines. My point was to get the most performance for money spent. If your willing to buy a ti-crank, modify your clutch and trans to take the power, operate in the 7000 to 10000 rpm's only, than cams, springs, carbs will help you at that point. There will some who go this route, but for a midly modded engine Polaris give you a great platform to build with, work with what you have and spend money wisely, no matter what company you use. The carb, cams, springs, are good from the factory. If you want a CDI box, they work great, advance base timing(increase fuel octane) and raise the rpm's no more than 200 to 300. VP MR1 race fuel will pick up a few hp, main jet will have to be increased to 190 to 200. Rath has the best looking CDI box I have seen that was not custom burned. But my point is not use Superbike products only, Use products that are going to give you the most bang for the buck.

Holy switching the tune Batman. He goes from claiming top notch hp, and "secretive" mods to talking about bang for the buck. Have you ridden the Hot Seat 600? Nope, you have no clue about it either. Keep paddling backwards and your back is gonna run into the dock. What a ****.

Modquad, we were not discussing my bike, just Predator's in general. Yes my bike does make big HP, and yes there are some things that Gary will not disclose on my engine.(called keeping a competitive edge). When you get a predator that you think can beat me, bring it on. I am ready and waiting. Run whatch ya brung and hope you brung enough.
