"Competetive edge" snicker, snicker. Is that with or without nuts in the motor? I guess any sport quad must seem fast to you, coming from having a Sportsman before ( no offense to any other Sportsman rider...just this one). Take it easy on yourself, you'll eventually get used to the speed. Race!? Did I hear someone say Race? I'll probably even get the Hot Seat guys involved. You better be honing that "competetive edge" cause there will be a no excuses shootout when all is finalized. Might even see if Daryl Rath has some time too. Don't forget to wet the stone Jr. otherwise your "competetive edge" will make a nasty grinding noise.....hmmm, kinda like nuts make as they go through a motor...or is that when someone overbills your credit card. Shop wisely people, there's hype, then there's hp.

We've always wanted to see a true shootout of hopped up quads from the different hop up shops...... Would ATV Sport have the nizzuts to do such a thing? I hope so!

I've said it before, the last time I was out at HPD, Darrell gave me an evil grin and said when the machine is finalized he wants to throw it down. Hmmm, I just might have to organize that. Not only dyno runs, but let's say best 2 out of 3 drags.

Put em on a motocross track also....this would measure the usability of the powerband as well. Adam Sick of Hot Seat has been running his 600 kit and probably would be game. Bye the way, it was quite obvious that Hot Seats 600 kit was not a regular Predator. I noticed the machine because of the power difference it seemed to have. They apear to have good luck running it. Adam did rip a tire off the bead in one race=beadlock wheels probably needed for that much power.

Where are all the build predators at?? We had over 130 built raptors/DS's/Banshees here at the junes races and 1 predator (stock) We had 2 new yzf450's. The market moves faster now than ever before. Suzuki brings the 400 and polaris answers with a better 500 cc quad. Yamaha then gave us the 450. Good times aboud.

Build them and lets play!!

The cranks are fine in the raptor. The are some rod issues. If you build a motor you should expect to break parts, if that bothers you do not build it.

No 2 shops are going to build them the same. I am sure it is the same for predators. Most all the built raptors use a JE piston/cometic gaskets and 1 of 10 cams out there. The main difference is the porting and the final end tuning. Take 3 motors built by the same shop using the same parts, the guy that dials his in the best will be faster than a guy that does not know where the carb is.

I hope to run across some build preadors soon. I would like to see first hand how they run.

I would guess that you got a ton of quads to show up for the race down there because you have places to race. MN pretty much sucks for most things with an engine. We have no place to drag the quads. It is probally the easiest track to setup and proven to draw lots of people, but we have no takers up here with a stretch of land that want to do it.

Modquad, as usual you are trying to find someone else to race for you. I am sure Superbike will be glad to enter the competition. That would be great to get all the player's there.

Did I miss something here lil Sp? Where did I say someone else would race anything for me? As Scott suggested, think before you type.

14, it's not just the port and piston that can make a difference. Look at what the newest 400 pipes have done to finish the packages. Once everyone thought the power was maxed, this pipe comes out, and virtually has a flat powerband. Wherever you have the throttle, you have power...instantly.

Like Ron said, we don't have any organized drags here, we have MX, and harescrambles. We do have ATV and snowmobile mod shops, and with recent years where snowfall has been lacking, more and more people are getting into quads.

There is a local monumental grass-drag for sleds known as Haydays...It would be incredible to get an event organized like this for quads....then you would see da gear come out of the woodwork.
