YFZ-450 HP not too impressive

Dude....cam mode, pipe, airbox lid removed against a stock Predator.....how about mod for mod.......give me a break. Half of you say "this bike is for the track not drag racing" the other say it's faster than any bike out there...which is it, cause to be honest with you the only consistant thing I've heard is that it's light and the upper A arms are cracking????? Go figure....question? When Polaris releases the 440 kit and the bike is competitive, what are you going to say then....oh by then Honda will be out with its 450 and the YFZ will be in the Cycle Trader almost as much as the Craptor!!!

LUGNUT,
how about i race you with your modded predator and me on my modded yfz,
you have the same amount of mods as i do.except i don't have a K&N air filter. and the cam mod i did was to only turn the cam back one tooth on the timing chain to retard it.
i owned a predator. they are no where near the machine the yfz is.
and i've owned and built machines that are way beyond that of either machine even with mods.
look at my sig and take a look at the pics of my MX tecate that put 68hp to the wheels.with a kx500 motor init.
the YFZ will hand the predator it's own **** in very quick fashion.
the predator is a very good machine, it's fast, it handles exceptionally well and has proven to be reliable so far. but the yfz is faster, better handling and it's too new to discuss reliability yetbut i don't foresee it having any reliability issues. as the motor is tried and trued already from the bikes. yamahas have always had solid frames.
no machine is perfect by any means. the rear shock on the polaris is something to be desired and the front a-arms on the yamaha may not hold up under prolonged severe abuse.
track, trail and drag the yfz will easily outshine the predator stock or modified.

And I'll just dial in some HPD cams. Hmm, should I dial them one way for torque, or the other for top end hp. There's getting to be more choices every day. There are many very happy Predator owners....do you think you're doing Yamaha a favor by ranting. You're insecure. Stop being a pest and blow your smoke somewhere else. What a ****! I have to agree with killerkx. The Predator is a great machine. I haven't owned one but I ride with two Predator guys. Even they will agree, the YFZ is faster. Stock and slightly modded. The handling is real close for my type of riding. The Predator may have more potential for heavily modded--maybe, but I don't care. If I was going to get out of control for power, I'd have a two stroke.
BTW. Who gives a rat's @ss about dyno numbers? If you think your Predator will out run a YFZ, okay. We'll just take your word for it. Just don't race mine or you may be disappointed. Then you can say, "My bike would win if it was that light."
And I could say, "Okay, whatever."

like a siad before, the predator is an excellent machine, just not as excellent as the yfz.when the predator came out it was hyped to be the next best mx racer on the planet, and i have yet to see one on a mx track yet.

Where are all these fast yfz's at. I drag race every thursday and friday night. There is every make and model of ATV there on a regular basis. Stock and modified. 2 different yfz's that are bone stock ran a best of 9.40 in the 1/8 mile. most stock pred's run 9.20 with one running high 8.90's. (a stock bike that is unreal). One of the yfz's went with a Sparks pipe and jet kit and removed airbox lid. He run's 9.0's on a consitant basis. I keep hearing how much faster the YFZ is than the Predator and other bikes. It just ain't happening around here. The YFZ is a great riding machine, and it is quick, but not any faster than DS, Rappy or Pred. on the asphault, may be different on another surface. All i have actually seen with my own eye's so far is talk, no results on the track.(The ultimate Dyno)
