Default belt shrinkage

on my 02 sp 500 i had to replace the belt(which i upgraded to a 700 top cog) at 720 miles. this was 50 miles after I drown my wheeler to the seat in mud and water. pulled it out and had to take apart the clutch cover to clean. the hot belt and cool water for 15 minuts was enough to shrink the kelvar brlt.
