Default reverse problem.......

Hey ppl, I have a 2001 Magnum 500 4X4. when in a tight spot in reverse, at idle, i turn the handlebars all the way to the left or right, and the bike stalls. Any suggestions? Thanx in advance.

Your throttle cable may be moving when you turn the wheel.

The truth is, it could be one of many problems, most likely to a wiring problem in the steering column. I would start by taking off the front cover and very carefully with the engine running start moving the wires around in the steering column. If you can reproduce the engine stalling pay close attention to which wire you moved. If this is an older unit it will have a large flat terminal block located under the front cover which can be a source of trouble.
Keep us posted and we will try to help.

Your throttle cable is out of adjustment. Take the cover off of the throttle assy to expose the ETC. Now, adjust the throttle until the contacts are held together with the tension of the throttle cable. After doing that, crank the engine and with the machine in neutral, turn the handlebars lock to lock and there should be no change in the idle, if there is, then you have too much tension on the cable or the cable is routed incorrectly.
