Polaris Ranger problems
#1
Sometimes the 6 wheel drive goes off. Several times I have been driving in 6 wheel drive (the light is on) and then I'll notice the rear wheels slipping and the front not pulling and the light will be off (obviously not in 6 wheel drive). Usually I can "bump" the gear shift lever and the light will come back on. What gives? Can this be adjusted?
Also sometimes after I change from reverse to forward or vice versa, the Ranger will pull strongly to the left, hard enough that you physically can't drive it in a straight line. Usually, I can change direction (either forward or reverse) and it stops doing this. Any ideas what is wrong?
This is my first Polaris and frankly, I am very disappointed with it so far. The reliability stinks. I've driven a total of about 4 hours already had the drive belt replaced plus the above problems.

I don't know what's up with the AWD not working with your Ranger, but I do know that sometimes one of my front hubs engages on my Xplorer and pulls strongly to the right or left. The Polaris instructional video says that when one hub might engage, put the quad in reverse, go back a little and then turn the wheels from left to right. That fixes it for me.
One time while I was going down a very steep hill, the right hub engaged for some reason and, by pulling hard to the right, about made me flip.
Other than that, I love my Xplorer and have never had any problems with it.

Thanks for the help guys. I talked to the dealer today and he told me the linkage needed adjustment to fully engage the "magnets" in the hubs. Appararantly when they are not fully engaged one wheel will engage and cause the torque steer. Anyway, I'm still hanging in there, the machine is awesome in the mud!
