HEELCLICKER CLUTCH QUESTION
#11
I have to agree that I quit even visiting the ATVnation because every other post is about heelclicker this and that. That is what a search engine is for. Cob, changing a single spring will not cause an out of balance clutch system like you state. The balance is in the weight system and clutch itself as you know. There are many times a spring change will do the trick, or maybe it might take different weights or secondary spring. Every situation is different, but one clutch kit will not always be the best. Those of us who completely understand the CVT and build our own clutching do not need a kit. For a beginner it might be the best thing, but I still say it can be done for half the price or less. That is where an experienced professional like Rick really shines through. I promise you there are more racer/ hardcore riders in this forum than there are ute owners. They are looking for pure performance tips. It is just that in my personal opinion and experience the high dollar kits are not needed. You are paying for someone elses R&D. Bubba

BUBBA that is fine that is your choice. But there are many that visit ATVNATION because of the amount of info that they can find there on HEELCLICKER. You can't make everyone happy just do the best you can. Most of the topics are started by folks that either have a question or are share'n thier experience with the rest. You know as well as I do you just change weights it will affect the clutch I had installed lighter weights it raised the engagement plus LOW GEAR would top out at less than 25 miles an hour. You add a stronger spring you will raise engagement RPM's but that is about all. You raise engagement and change spring rate you need adjust for the shift out, you need change weights you may have to change the HELIX to get the right upshift an back shift. You aren't going to do that for $25.
If we all had the knowledge to tune clutches, true there would be no need for KITS. But in the real world there are many of us that rely on them. Instead of buying an over priced Exhaust system, why not just punch the center out of your stock muffler? Answer is because it's not that simple, it takes alot to tune a muffler for peak performance, most of us don't have the knowledge. Ritter was mentioned earlier ask him if he has ever used any HEELCLICKER parts, why would he pay for someone elses R&D he is very knowledgeable? He has forgotten more than you an I will ever know about clutches. If you can spend the bucks on springs , weights and helix combinations and get the setup that works best for you go for it. If you are like me with limited knowledge, you will be religated to spending the bucks for someone elses knowledge.
I'm not pushing the HEELCLICKER on anyone a question was asked I tried to answer to the best of my limited knowledge. All I can tell you is that I'm one happy camper with mine. I have many ppl that I have helped get a discount on kits for also. I have almost no belt lag, I have a belt that I can feel grab, I have improved EBS. I have increased the power that gets to the ground, because of less belt slip. I use low very seldom, many days I run all day without ever useing low. With what little knowledge that I have about clutches I would have spent far more than the $158 it cost me to install the HEELCLICKER on my machine. I would of had to experiment with what weight would have been just right, I would of had to experiment with a few springs to find what I wanted
out of them. I would probley have been into the HELIX to see what they would do for me. Not real sure that I would of had the results that I have now. Had the HEELCLICKER not worked for me I could of gotten a refund, out nothing just some time. Now with the weights how many of them could I send back. What would I do with the springs I don't need, GET A REFUND? I think not. If I tried a helix that wasn't what I thought it should have been, I would be stuck with that. So to me $158 was the cheap guaranteed way out, if it didn't work I was out nothing. That makes HEELCLICKER and someone elses R&D alot cheaper, for me at least.

Dont tell ME about Heel Clickers so called gaureentee?
I had the POLARIS DEALERSHIP install my H/C kit for me and lost ALL the low end that I acheived with my Hot Seat clutch kit. When I went to pick up my Xplorer 400cc from the dealership,I took it for a test ride and was shocked that I could no longer wheelie my front end in low range like I could with my Hot Seat kit.And this H/C kit was suppose to be an IMPROVEMENT vs the Hot Seat kit?One word-BOLOGNA!
I really raised some ruckus over this and my Polaris mechanic called Randy from H/C.Randy said to change the primary spring to a higher engagement spring. This STILL would'nt get my front end up.We finally changed the primary spring 3 differant times before we could loft the front end up off the ground. Now we had a brand new problem? My ENGAGEMENT speed was thru the roof before you could get the quad to move from a stand still.Needless to say,my experience with Heel Clicker was not a good one. Now,to COBs credit, this was about 2 yrs ago and im pretty sure that Randy has got this problem under control by now?I was basically a GUINNI pig for H/C,all at MY cost. Not once did H/C offer to give me my $$ back,or I WOULD have took it.

Anyone wants any info just go to the HEELCLICKER SITE you will find any answers that you need there. Or you can call DAN with any questions you may have. Or you can let someone less knowledgeable make your decision for you. You don't have to take my word on any thing, do a search talk to actual ppl that have installed the kit, then make up your own mind. All I have to do with any thing is a go between that saves you some bucks. Read what PEST44 has to say above, the kit speaks for it's self. Do you know of any other seller of clutch componets that backs it with money back guarantee?

PESTS44 posts admits that his kit could also maybe be a ''seat of the pants''feel to him.
A LOUDER exaust system will also make your quad ''feel or sound''quicker too.But just like the Heel Clicker clutch kit, this proves NOTHING!
SHOW ME SOME ACTUAL TIME TRIALS THAT PROVE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS HEEL CLICKER CLUTCH KIT vs other clutch kits or a stock clutching set-up!Until than,
You have the right to remain SILENT!

Why do you persist in ruining a good topic? You aren't interested in a kit, there is nothing to prove to you. You are turning Statemans post into a circus. It is ppl like yourself that make others afraid to ask questions they can't get a straight forward answer. Why you want to make the forum look bad?

Take a look at this is rather interesting the HAMMER TIME weights and the HEEL-X will be coming out real soon. Watch next months SNO-TECH mag for a 8 page article on clutching written by the inventor of HEEL CLICKER weights. The weights were first made for sleds then adopted for ATV's.

I dont insist on ruinning anything. My only intent is to make sure that folks hear BOTH sides of the Heel Clicker story and not just a one sided opinion from someone who SELLs the kit.

GRIMRIPPER,
yah,and its ALL you read about in the ATVNATION forum. But what should you expect with COB being a salesman for the H/C kit and also the moderator of the forum. Its just fitting,I guess?
