I was lubricating my throttle cable, when i put it back together i noticed that i couldnt get the slide to open all the way without the idle going to high. i used both adjustment on the cable and to get the idle correct I dont get full height on the slide. the slide should be even across the top on wot. Is that correct. Any help or suggestions.

 

That is the idea, but I can say from experience with my cable, that the slide doesn't completely clear the throat of the carb. That is with my aftermarket carb and the factory carb was the same way.
