A new Polaris BEAST??
#22
I think they are big enough now and costly enough. I am not sure how much more people will pay, it is close to 7000 grand for a Sportsman. Shave some weight add some new feature to the Current 500, it is already powerful enough. but hey I guess if people will but them, make them.

Just got back from my dealer, It's reality folks!! 700 twin and its lighter than the the 500!The motor anyway. He said 45hp at the rear wheels right know they are tring to sqeeze 50hp for production! The motor is made in the USA and uses alot of pre-existing parts. He didn't know anything about gearing on it.They already put in there order for the beast! This is a MA and PA shop people this was all discussed over a 12pk! The price isn't known yet and won't be until the fall convention. Also saw the new silver Sportsman has the diamond plate graghics on it, it's sharp looking thats for sure.

Man if u are right on your facts that thing will fly. i hope he dident have to many beers and was just feeding u a line. where did he get his hp numbers. the current sp500 has 18 rwhp, so 45 would be a BIG increase if its true WOW
hope they make the CV joints tuff enough

ledebuhr1, the cat was out of the bag before the first beer was cracked! The hp numbers come from the tech rep. He wasn't positive on whether or not they where crank or rear wheel figures. But the # was 45hp! with 50 the goal. My guess and my dealers is it will be geared a little taller than present because otherwise you would need 4wd truck cv's to keep it together! will proubly be the fastest 4wd out there. He also said it would be coming with a low oil pressure light. The thing iI was curious about was how wide will the motor be? He said he'll ask the tech rep next time he has him on the phone.I asked about Sport machines and he hadn't heard anything, but that doesn't mean anything. He doesn't like dealing with them and pretty much aviods them at all costs. They don't sell to well in this community.
