Workout available??
#1
Hey guys. Im going to get into atv racing this comming year. I have done it before, but last year it seemed that i was very fatigued and my arms hurt like no other. I was just wondering what workout you quad racers do or can you give me a site to look at or something. I am about 5'11" and i weigh about 154lbs. I live on a farm so i am strong but need to be stronger. Please include all workouts from running to lifting. Thank you so much guys!!!

No I haven't started doing any pushups or anything like that, I am really not doing anything that will benifit me yet. But i am looking to start after i get some advice from the experienced riders. I always stretch and yeah push ups are a pretty good idea. thanks, keep up the good work.

I run for 30 min. 2-3 times a week or ride bike for 45 min 2-3 times a week. Also plenty of stretching, and some sit-ups and push ups...and of course lots of riding when you can. If you're racing your predator, it is common for sore arms. It's another curse of the predator that I've found. the heavy front end, mixed with the flat travel rate of the a-arms causes more steering feedback and vibration through the stem than most quads. I would highly recomend upgraded front suspension, steering dampner, anti-vibe steering stem and aftermarket handle bars on your pred if that is what you are racing. Also, try switching to some ITP or Kenda rear tires, it will help keep the amount of rear sliding down. I think I'm going to trade my pred. I'm in good shape, but the front just beats me to hard to the point that I can't force my fingers to hold on anymore. And the rear end always sliding out costs me precious seconds that allows guys to sneak up on me in the tight woods sections!

Hey thanks a lot you guys have been very helpful. I am not racing the Predator though, i am racing my 1996 Sport. I have the same problems.. i feel by the last lap that i cant hang on any longer and that is all i think about instead of my race. my front suspension is totally stock. my rear is good. I have dumped all of my money into the motor, when i guess i should have put it in the suspension. i was wondering how those guys raced like that. By the way, I race on mx tracks usually after the motos have raced on it, they are really rough. ruts are usually 1 ft deep. Do you guys lift weights?? if so what are your weight workouts?? thanks a lot. another fact, i am 18 years old.
