Sportsman 500 AWD

Yes I am sure it is you just have to find a way to override the traction loss sensor in the transmission, It may be as simple as cutting the wires to it and putting a switch or shorting out the system. I plow a lot of snow with my 335 SP and move more snow than my snowblower does and feel that having full time AWD may put strain on drive train causing breakage. But to go back to your question I am sure there is a way to do what you want.

The 4WD on a Polaris is actually an AWD system. The system works on an electro mechanical principal whereby when the AWD is actuated the power is applied to an electro magnetic coil in each front hub (called a Hilliard clutch). With the coil energized and all 4 wheels rotating at the same speed only the 2 rear wheels drive. Whenever the rear wheels loose traction the front drive shafts rotate faster than the wheels then the Hilliard clutch locks up and drives the front wheels. Once traction is returned the front Hilliard clutches disengage and 2WD is returned. In short, you cannot have all 4 wheels locked without the rear wheels loosing traction. This is an abbreviated version of how the system works.
Hope this helps.
