DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT BRAND OF BELTS WORK WELL WITH POLARIS. THE OEM BELTS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE, ALONG WITH ALL OF THE OTHER POLARIS PARTS.

I HAVE A 97 SCRAMBLER 400 AND A 2000 SPORTSMAN 500 RSE. MY DEALER SAID THEY TAKE THE SAME BELT #3211077.

IN THE INFO THAT I HAVE THEY ARE DIFFERENT.

SPORTSMAN 500 3211069
SCARMBLER 400 3211077

WHAT IS THE DEAL?

I HAVE TRIED GATES XTREME BELTS. THE WORK GREAT, BUT RUB ON THE COVER.

THANKS.

I use a DaycoMax belt in my heavily modified Polaris Sport. No complaints. By the way, my Sport says 400Exs taste just like chicken.

Polaris has 3 different belts.

1. The belt that goes in all Polaris ATV except...
2. The belt for all EBS machines (has grooves cut in it)
3. The Ranger belt (made for better cooling, longer life)

The Ranger is most expensive but the strongest. Your Sport and RSE would work on the same belt, but it's not how they should be. The RSE has EBS and should use the EBS belt.

If your dealer has all 3 belts in stock (every dealer should) look at them and compare them.

As far as a cheaper belt... The Dayco is a good belt but not much cheaper.
