Default light switch ?

Do you have to get the whole handlebar assymbly just to get the light switch.Does anyone have a old one that they took off because the overide or starter switch went bad but the light switch is good?

Only way they come is as the "Unit". I'm assuming you've already tried to take the switch apart and clean/repair it?

Which "Unit" do you have - (there are 3 different part #'s for the older bikes) - which bike does it fit??

I have to take the handgrips off to get to the screws that hold the housing on and I dont think I am goig to go to that much trouble. When I get my manual on this bike I will splice into the right wires and put on another switch for the head light.(the switch acts like the spring and plastic holder are broken)

Sometimes the spring out of a cheap "clicker" ball point pen is the right size (don't remember how many of the radiator fans with failed brush springs or starter buttons I've fixed this way), another option for different sized springs is one of the kid's broken remote controlled cars.

A good soaking with CRC 2-26 electrical contact cleaner sometimes helps. Let it sit for a bit, then "exercise" all the switches. Leaves behind a nice protectivie oil film also.

A 45 cent spring and a couple hrs fixed it.Saved a $100.All it takes is time and you can figure out almost anything.
