I was wondering what exactly happens when you change the clutch springs? Does it change the engagement RPM's?

Does most people increase the engagement RPM or lower them?

Most people replace the stock primary spring with a stronger spring thereby increasing the rpm engagement.

Of course there is a lot more to it than just changing the spring. If you change the tension rate or full shift pressure then either the bike will turn too many RPMs and get out of the pipe operating range, or the clutch will never fully shift out. Performance can suffer with a spring change more easily than it can be helped. The best thing to do is call someone who deals with clutching and tell them what you have and what you want. That would be the best thing to do. Ritter Cycle would be a good choice.Bubba
