rear tires for 2002 trailboss 325
#1
hi guys im new to the site, i own a 02 trailboss 325 limited edition yellow, i just had the clutch done on my bike, new springs and a kn filter was put in by the dealer, my bike still has the stock titan tires, 22x11x10 they weigh about 16 pounds new and are almost bald, i will be purchasing new tires ,due to the rough mountainous terrain i need a strong long lasting puncture proof tire, that does great in the mud as well, what kinds of tires are you guys running on youre trailbosses ? lets say i buy kenda bearclaws, 22x12x10 at 24 pounds each will the extra weight hamper my performance, does the bike have enough power to turn these, which tires best suit these bikes, i would like to buy something with an aggressive tread pattern like bearclaws, mudlites, spidertracs, blackwaters etc...any suggestions appreciated.

I love my Blackwaters. They are very much more puncture resistant than the stock tires. I ride mostly trails. The sharp rocks would cut the heck out of the stock tires, lots of flats! The stock tires would hook up a bit in the mud. The Blackwaters I run are 22X12.5X10, have not been cut even once and hook up great in the mud! I put on Douglas .190 wheels at the same time. The stock wheels were tore up bad around the bead area. The Blackwaters have a bunch of extra rubber that cover the edge of the wheel and that works very well as I have yet to see a ding on the wheel. There are better tires out there for other applications, but for my riding(trails with rocks then deep mud then hard pack and back again) Blackwaters can not be beaten!
