Take the secondary clutch apart and make sure it is right.Sounds like a broken button or spring wound wrong.

i just put it together.the bottons look great... on the replacement of the rear spring i marked the helix and pulley.so iwould put it back together right.the marks line back up when i got done ...it was hard to get it back to so marks.....it sounds like it coming from the front part of the clutch area where the weights are..... dont know ....did i do the helix right...i mark it like the instructions said.... the marks when i took it off...seem like the helix turn half way when it came off ......put it back together the marks were on oppisite from each other.took some grunting to twist it back to match the lines up... did i do it right it is a hpd clutch kit curb

Still sounds to me as a secondary problem.Take the belt off and see if the 2 halves of the secondary clutch snap when you twist them the opposite direction.Sounds like you may have wound the pre load backwards.

i put it back together turning it clock wise..... so when it turns clockwise the spring will compress.... cause when i took it apart it turned counterclockwise did u change the helix spring in your sons quad.. also from reading on helixs in forum...everyone is saying turn the helix 1/3 to load the spring.. my marks on the helix and the pulley were were across from each other ....it took a 1/2 turn to get it to line up with the marks ... when u installed the one u did...did u do a 1/2 turn or 1/3 .... that is only over the first bump on the helix... when i did it it went 2 bumps.........ty ftwfth for helping me ... but i need more info from u lol.......curb

If you changed secondary springs the marks may not line up.Take it back apart and when assymbling it take it 1/3 turn counterclockwise.
