Douglas .190s or ITP T-9 Pro series?
OK guys, here is the deal. I can get the Douglas .190's for $212.95 delivered without lugs, or I can get the ITP T-9 Pro Series for $219 delivered (with lugs) or $196 delivered (w/o lugs). Your honest opinion, should I go with the ITP's or the Douglas? I have always thought that the Douglas were stronger, but are they really? How good are the ITP T-9's? They are generally more expensive than the Douglas, so this is a great price!! Also, do I need new lug nuts with it, or will my OEM lug nuts work? Any help is appreciated.

Thank you Jay and fishslab both for your replys. fishslab, do you have an opinion on which is stronger? I heard that the bead design was stronger on the Douglas. But are the new Pro Series T-9's have a better bead design? My gut tells me to go with the best priced wheel, which is the ITP. Let me know what you think

I use my old lug nuts. Turn them around so that the flat part is against the rim. I checked my wheels. I have 4 Douglas .190 rears and 2 ITP .190 rears and 2 ITP T-9 fronts. The rears on both are quite similar. The ITP T-9 fronts have a rolled edge. The rolled edge would make it stronger and less likely to snag on stuff. I wish they made a 4on4 T-9 rear. The ITP rims do have a deeper bead. That can keep them seated better. I would have to say if I had the choice I'd pic ITP, but if I'd save a few bucks picking either I'd save the bucks.

I just picked up a set of ITP .190 aluminum wheels at my local Polaris dealer for a smoking deal of $100 for all four. They are brand new wheels and look identical to the douglas .190's I have seen. Now I just have to find some nice tires to put on them so they are ready for summer trail riding, woo hoo.

BBS,
I'm not familiar with the T9's but most aluminum, especially cast aluminum, require a shank type lug nut. Steel wheels require a conical seat type lug nut. The two are not safely interchangeable. I have the C3 type 4's and had to buy the lug nuts because stock nuts won't work. Check to be absolutely sure with whoever you're buying through.
BTW, did my guy help you out?

Treedoc, your guy is the one that is setting me up. So far I have a quote of $200 shipped for 4 ITP T-9 Pro Series rims and valve stems. I will have to double check to make sure the OEM lugnut will work. But Fishslab said he uses his OEM lugnuts though? And I believe that my Rocky MT cataloge said that only Canondales require a different lugnut. So I will see. Thanks for hooking me up!!
