Default CV boot, outer front, Sportsman 400

I did a search on CV boot, but really came up with nothing I could use. What is involved in cleaning the CV joint? Also, is the OEM boot adequate or should I look for a sturdier design? Any helpful hints on doing this job would be appreciated as well!

The OEM boots have served me without fail for 1900 miles on my 2000 SP 500. Alot of that has been in less than perfect conditions. Alot of water, mud and trail blazin. I just replaced the L/outer first one in 4 years. I would recommend upon doing a detailed cleaning and lubing after each ride just take a quisk glimpse. If it is found bad change prior to the next ride because the Polaris and Gorillia axles are very very proud of their product.
