Some Scrambler 500 Questions
I was thinking about buying a Scrambler. I have a few questions about it:
1) What is the approximate top speed of the scrambler with NO mods to it
2) How much "draw back" does the 4WD and weight have against its speed (I think its a little heavy for its type)
3) Is the Scrambler good for riding in the woods and deep mud AND for speed also?? (since it has 4WD)
I really like the Scrambler b/c it is something that can race and it can get through the tough stuff like deep mud and places where 4WD is needed. Whoever answers my questions, thanks in advance

Some Scrambler 500 Questions
1) approx 63-65mph depending on the variables
2) Its about 40lbs heavier than the 2x4 with a slightly heavier front end. May be a few mph slower than the 2x4, but the 4x4 is definately worth it IMO. You get used to the weight and how it handles
3) The scram is great in the woods. You cant beat a full auto in the woods. It wont out mud a SPortsman, but the sport quads cant touch it in the mud. Its does really well for a chain drive 4x4. About as good as most Honda, with the exception of TRUE 4WD!!! It is also faster than most utes.
The scram is the perfect all around quad. Doesnt excell in any one area in particular, but does a little of everything

Some Scrambler 500 Questions
Like I said, top speed depends on the variables. I have heard of some reaching 68mph on their stock scram. I only hit 64mph when mine was stock. The true sport machines are limited to the lower 70's mph in stock condition. So 65mph on a 550lb+ machine is cruising. The are just as fast in top end as the Prairies (650 and 700) are, with only a 500cc single. As for mods, you got pipes, clutch kits (which make the big difference) bigger carb, air box mods, a few cams, HC piston, head work, and Four Stroke Tech offers a 600 and 628cc big bore kit

Some Scrambler 500 Questions
Hey BIGBAD, Im going to install a Dalton clutch kit in my friends Scambler 500. I have a few questions to ask if you don't mind. The kit comes with new weights, a helix and two new springs. Do I need any special tools to install the helix? He also has a K&N with a outerwear and a FMF pipe, do you recommend any holes in his air box lid? if so how many and how big? also he ask me to install a set of hot grips and I was wondering is there a 12 volt power source under the front hood or should I run power back to the batterie? If you could help me I would be gratefull.
