Sportsman 6x6
Hey all I have been looking at the sportsman 6x6 with track's for a good
all season vehicle and im woundering if anyone can tell me the width of
the tracks. I have been trying to figure out the psi the tracks place on the
snow/ground and I cant find the width of them on the Polaris homepage or
brouchier(sp?).
If anyone can help It would be much appreciated.

Hey thanks alot I didnt realize they were that wide, I figured 13" maybe.COOL
Since we get alot of soft snow I would propably want skis on the front(7" wide
ones to keep front up) but I noticed in the polaris service manual for the
500ho/400 that the speedo is hooked up to the front right hand wheel/brake
(speed sensor).
If I take off the front wheels and mount skis up what will I loose other than
the speedo?
will the hour meter still run?
(I also noticed if the sensor dosent detect front wheel movement there will be
a rev limit in reverse at 3500 rpm)
I basicly want to know a setup that I can use in OFF trail situitions where im in
soft snow that wont screw up the bike.

as a former owner of a 6X6, i would think you would want to leave tires on the front not skis.
the tires would help pull you through the snow.
i left mine stock. i used it mainly blasting through the trails and deep mud.
VERY impressive!

I would deffinately leave the tires alone until the snow gets around 2 feet
deep but when it gets deeper than that u are basicly limited to the groomed
trails with tires on(I dont think tires will do any good in deeper snow maybe
3 feet +). I guess u have to stick to the groomed trails most of the winter
until april rolls around and the snow turns sugary.
Thanks
