Can you get the spider out of the clutch without the tool?

I would say no, not without damaging it. The spiders are usually torqued to well over 200 ft/lbs. I've done numerous clutch rebuilds on sleds and have had some put up quite a fight even with all the correct tools.

I'll second what Velocity stated. Normally if you bring just the clutch into the dealer, they'll open it up for nothing......or maybe a McDonalds value meal. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
