Does anyone know how to tighten the chain on a 325 Trail Boss???
I just got done riding with my friends this weekend and it was terrible. Somehow during all that riding my chain became real loose and no one knew how to fix it, so I pretty much had to ignore it. But eventually the chain started falling off. PLEASE HELP ME! I have no clue what im doing!

Hi,
loosen the two bolts on the bottom of the axle, under the hitch, and loosen the two bolts on the brake caliper, then you need a punch or a small screw driver to insert in a hole on the sprocket, (right hand side) roll quad forward until punch goes into the rear axle housing. (near top of housing) Now by moving quad forward or backward you can loosen or tighten your chain. seems awkward the first time, but pretty easy after that. If you have owners manual it is in there as well. Hope this helps you out.

if its a newer model, there will also be a place near the center of the axle that you will be able to rotate the axle with a large crescent wrench.
just like BLANEY said, youll need to loosen the axle bolts AND the caliper bolts before the axle will turn. rotate the axle until theres about 1/2 inch play in the chain. (manual says 3/8 inch,, but i like the chain just a tad looser just incase.
if its an older model,,, you might need to compress the suspension while you do all of this ... get a BIG buddy to sit on it for you.

my wife loves her trailboss, we put a rcr stage 1 kit on it and with her 95 lbs, it wheelies all day long for her. But her passion is the mud...the trailboss goes through things i really didnt think she had a chance in he!! of getting through....pull all your regular maintenance and it should be a great quad for your girl. they are very comfortable to ride and stable to make her feel confident. Good luck and any other questions, just ask!
