500 SPortsman or 600?

I was in the same situation where the prices were very close. I went with the 600 and don't regret it one bit. The Sportsman is a very heavy machine so you can't have too much power. And with the choice of one cylinder or two, c'mon man, you figure it out. Plus still only one carb to worry about. It's a no brainer. However, if you want to add performance goodies to your machine you might choose the 500 'cause there is next to nothing for the 600, but then again, it doesn't need any improvement. Mine hauls a 300 lb wagon with 130 lbs of kids and 360 lbs of my wife and I (no need for details) all over our property, through the stream, up steep banks, its a tank. Then when I get rid of all that cargo I can fly around on it just like a sport quad....OK, maybe I exagerated a bit there. Don't be silly man, get the 600!

Don't know what I would do . . .
The 500 has a pull start, 600 does not.
The 500 has been out for years and works great (proven track record), 600 for only a few years.
The 500 has more than enough power for me, never riden a 600.
The 500 is a bit lighter (prolly not enough to make too much difference).
Then again what is that old saying? "You just can't beat cubic inches" (well centimeters)
My best friends 2003 500HO against a 2003 700 in a drag race, the 500HO held its own and gave nothing to the 700. Not that I am into really fast utility quads, cause if speed is the issue then we are looking at the wrong type of quad.
500 with a winch and some other options, better than a stock 600? To me yes.
