front plastic removal help
You shouldn't have to take off the handlebars. Go to Polaris and click on the manuals and brochures. You can download a free parts manual that will give a breakdown of the whole bike. That will give you an idea of what has to be removed. On my Trail Boss there were two rivets that I had to drill out, replaced them with bolts. Other than that it's pretty simple.

front plastic removal help
First take off the hood and unplug the headlight and remove all bolts for the front plastic. Once that ia done you have to lift the plastic some to get the shift *** out of the plastic, if you have a shifter that is. I was able to pull the plastic completely off by turning it sideways and there should be enough play to get past the handlebarts one side at a time.
