Default 2004 Polaris 330 Magnum

Ok, i'm having a problem with my polaris 330 magnum not wanting to start up good. You have to try it several times before it will start. It does it when cold or hot. Can be riding it for awhile and stop and it still doesnt want to start well. It recently had it in the shop because it would just quit on me and then backfire. It hasnt done that in a little while so hopefully that is fixed. Thought about replacing the spark plug. Maybe that backfiring effected the plug. Do you have to get a plug from the dealer? What is the best plug to use. It has about 400 miles on the atv. Also does it with fresh gas. Also once started it runs real well. Another thing I was wondering was is there anything to do about the engine braking. I wish it has some. I believe it would be safer. Is there any modification for this. I have a 2003 kodiak 400, and it is much better going downhill. Well I just want to say thanks and hello to everyone.

Go to your local auto parts store and get an NGK plug. Should cost about 1.50, from the dealer you'll pay around 5.00 for the same plug. As far as engine braking, practice is your best friend.
