Polaris Sportsman Steering Column NUT
#1
Hello,
Have a 2002 Sportsman 400 that has a bent steering column and handlebar. Anyone have this happen or have any experience with the repair? I hear that I have to remove all of the main body plastic and the gas tank to get the shaft out since it has the 'ears' on the lower end that connect into the steering tierods and cannot be just 'slid' out the top. Anyone know what size nut that is on the bottom of the steering column?
Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
M@

hey partner I have changed 50 plus of thos things. It can be slid out from the bike without tearing it all apart, butttttttt, if ur bars and post are bent u went over hard, and the frame mast may be bent and will have to straitned to get poper fitt of the new post. it is not that hard to remove the front cab and tank, just a bit time consuming. makes the job a lot easier if u do remove all parts. PM me if u need help
