I mean, everywhere I go, everyone gives me a bunch of crap about riding a polaris. I have a '97 Sport 400L. It's completely stock....for now. It runs good and has been extremely reliable. I realize it's heavy, but I don't care. I just ride for fun. But all of my friends and people who I don't even know are always asking, "Why did you buy a polaris?". Well, because I wanted one. Jeez, you'd think I had some kind of disease or something just because of the 4-wheeler I ride. Maybe that's part of the reason I'm going for the HPD Race Mod. I just get tired of it after a while. It's not like I'm racing for points here, I'm not trying to go through mud that 4 ft deep. I'm just riding for fun.

 

It get's hard to deal with don't it? No matter if someone tells you "Forgettem, just enjoy it", it's hard to deal with constantly.

Warrior owners deal with this to a degree also with pepole ragging on the "slow, old, low-tech blah blah .. "

Fuggem I says. Where I ride, I really don't have to deal with it. Most everyone I meet on a trail looks on in Awe of the Warrior, wishing they could have one. Sport quads are a little rare around here, so when someone sees one, they take notice.

i always get people asking the same thing "why do u waste money on that pos" and i just say it aint a piece of **** it runs better than urs dont it??

also i even had one kid deny riding on the back of mine because it was a polaris

 

I had a Scrambler when they first came out and heard the same ****. It wasn't long before the trash talking ceased when they couldn't keep up. I ride a DS650 now, same story.

 

Tell him to have fun walking then.

People aren't gonna recognize mine as a polaris when i get done. I will put some polaris stickers on though, I am proud to have one.

 

I know how "old" that crap can get!!! But it's all just trash talkin'!!! Those kind of folks are just trying to convince themselves that theirs is better than yours... Don't buy into their bull____!! Life's way too short to let these people get under your skin. Ride for the sake of riding!! Have fun!!! So what if it's "old". So what if it's "low tech". If you like what you have, be proud!! If you're not... Modify it of get something different.

It doesn't matter what you're on, you're out there riding and that's all that matters!!

 

I have never had that problem with other people before, maybe it's my size that stops them. If someone other then my friends would say something i would bust them in the pie hole. They are six of us that ride together and 4 of us ride Polaris. Now we are down to 3 one of the guys bought a Raptor. We always dogg each other about what we ride. It's fun when it comes to friends. Last weekend they went riding, I could not go because I sold my scrambler to buy the new 05 TLD Predator, but any way some guy told my buddy he had a Craptor, and he is still pissed about it......the guy was riding a old 250R. I used to have that problem but now that i beat most people they dont talk as much.

 

The funny thing is that if someone gets beat by a banshee they dont think anything of it,but when a Polaris beats them they tend to remember it alot better for some reason.I am often asked why mod a polaris,my answer is usually because i just wanted to be different.I am often asked if my bike is a quadzilla,i guess i need to get some stickers.Get the ravce mod done and you will shut alot of those guy's up for sure.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Funny! I can see where the yellow/blue looks a bit Suzuki, but you'd think the huge Polaris logo on the seat and the MacPherson struts hanging out front would be a clue.

Me, I ride Poo because I was a life-long snowmobiler. Poo made the closest thing to a sled for dirt. CVT, single brake and 2-stroke. Started with a '93 250 TrailBoss, then the '95 Sport in my handle and now the '98 Xplorer in my sig. Loved each of 'em and never had any problems.
