Default front dif on the 3fi

Hey all.......something funny happend today, i was riding around the property today and i decided to get on it instead of putt putt around....and well when i nailed it i could feel the a$$ end break loose for a second then the fornt wheels kicked in...while the AWD switch was in the OFF postion.......i thought no big deal its prolly locked in from the last time i had it in 4x4....so i stopped backed up with the ovride button in....SWITCH STILL OFF for AWD....and compensed to turnt he bars left and right while goin backwards...and it just locked the steering to the left...so i put it in H nad nailed it and the AWD ingaged again.....it took like 5 minutes of back up and going forward to disenaged it fully.....then i wanted to make sure it was out...so i went to my dirt pile and it spun out in 2wheel drive.....

i was a complete stop back tired where not moving...i put in AWD and tried it...the back wheels spun for like 2 full revolutions...then i hurd a hug clunk clunk grinde bang.....and the front wheels kicked in....scared the **** outta me....so i took it back to my shop....drained the front dif fluid in a clear plastic jug...and checked for moisture...there was none....so i refiled with new front drive fluid....i believe it was 6 oz......i took it back out and the same thing.......but after i rode it for about 10-15 more minutes it seem to get better

is there something else that im missing? couldnt something be messed up fron with the clutches or anything? anything i should have the dealer look at...or should i be aight now?

please let me know....because i dont want any more issues witht hen what ive already had.....

thanks in advance...

Luke

My 2003 700sp used to go into awd every once in awhile. Dealer put in the 2004 cage inside the front diff......they say since its mechanical the vibration may cause it to kick in sometimes. I think mines only done it a couple times since and that was in the winter. But, a buddy of mine has the same problem, his solution if he don't plan on using awd is unplugging the switch on the handle bars.

It also could be that your cage is broke... mine was just plastic and fixed under warrenty

hope that help
