Default H\N\R trans switch 00-02 magnum500s

rear transmission switch failure every about 200 miles. Not abusive, and no kids riding it.
any suggs fellas

Bad ground?? Dunno?. If it is going bad that often, then there has to be something more going on than just the switch. What is going wrong with it? Is it frying out?

it just completely loses cont between powerin, and power out on any function. not loss of one or the other.
I think I may have gotten it. he had a lot of moisture in the gearcase and the condensation was goofin up the switches in it.
I cut open one of the other old ones and saw corrosion in the switches, most likely water.

You may want to put some dielectric grease around it next time them. Should seal it up

the moisture was coming from in the gearcase. It is sealed from the outside. the oil was milky it had so much water in it.
