Is replacing a cam a difficult job?
It seems that a the cam has gone out on my uncles sportsman 500 6-wheeler. I do alot of work on snowmobile engines, i tear them apart and rebuild them all the time, I pretty much teach myself everything. I haven't had much experience with 4-strokers yet though. I was told that installing a new cam is not very difficult, there is no doubt in my mind that i can do it, It will just take some learning. Does anybody have any pictures or advice?

Cam replacement is not a daunting a task. But it can be for a first timer!!
My advice is to GO SLOW!!! And check everything as long as you're in there. Chances are pretty high that if the cam is gone, other parts may need attention as well. A good shop manual comes in mighty hady in this situation. And if you have a digital camera, set it to the highest res possible and take pics every step of the way. Actual visual reference is a huge help at times!!!
Good luck with your project!!
