Default gonna get a new 04.5 sp 700

I have purchased 4 brand new polaris atvs.98 sp 500 00' sp 03' scrambler 500.. this 700 efi that I just recently purchased has been a dud..lets see....first day I bought it..7 miles..bad fuel pump...250 miles bad rear diff seal and a bunch of metal shavings in rear diff..,,,replaced the seal myself... tonight...stuck in 4wd... 280 miles and its stuck in 4wd...I think this machine is a dud...all of my other purchases I have been completly happy with...not a problem one..I've put thousands of miles on them and had absoluetly zero problems...Im, gonna tell my dealer I want a brand new 04.5 sp 700... my current 700 was built on 4-19-04...everyone must have had to pay a buttload of taxes and took out their frustrations by building me a crappy atv...what do you guys think...I think I deserve a new 700...this thing has been problematic from day one...I find it very disheartening to spend $7600 on a new atv and have this many problems...I don't know what to think....I take immacualte care of my equipment..If i beat the hell out of it the story might be different.....help me out with opinions

With Polaris, you either get a good one or a lemon. Seems to be no in between! They defiently have some quality control issues. After your warranty is expired, your on your own. They KNOW the problems their quads have but hope they make it through the 6 month warranty , then your on your own. Polaris should have things in place to help in cases of lemons. If Polaris doesn't do something about the crappy ones they send out , they will lose in the long run. Sales will start to fall. I have bought 2 sportsmans in 04 and have had nothing but problems. They did extend my warrant on my 500 ho for 3 more months but it isn't right. I'm going to trade it back to them in the spring and they can eat it. Dobie

I just picked up a new '05 700 EFI two weeks ago. I have put on 200 miles so far with only one problem, which appears to happen on some of the units....the starter stayed engaged. A tap on the solenoid fixes the problem. Its new and tight.

As with all ATV's, etc., they can experience problems. My 2nd Honda was the Automatic with the push button shifter. Nothing but problems. I usually couldn't get it back to neutral, would shut it off, take the hand crank and have to put it back to neutral by hand.

I'm on my second Polaris, 500 Sportsman was my first one, absoluately no problems with it.

Polaris Sucks! Back in 2002 I purchased a brand new 700 and it has been a lemon since day one. It was in the shop 8 times and over 100 days before everyone gave up fixing it. To this day it is not running. Polaris service is the absolute worst. You can not talk to anyone above a customer service representative. They will actually hang up on your if you push them to let you talk to someone in mangemetn. I wanted a new machine too, best of luck to you, if you get it let me know how you did it. The shop where I bought it was more than fair in trying to fix the machine, but they could not do it. They also would not give me a new one, nor would Polaris. I now have a lawsuit that is in progress. I agree over $7,000 for a machine that sucks and a huge corporation that won't stand behind what they sell. Your right though, alot of people don't make it within that cheesy 6 month warranty and then they are really screwed. Hey there is power in numbers, I welcome you to email me if you continue to have problems. chud@i2k.com
